- International Potato Chip Flavor Taste Test!
For the one-year anniversary event, we decided to hold another taste test and contest, much like the Mike & Ike Taste Test from June 2022. We gathered 19 unique flavors of Lay’s potato chips ranging from a total of 12 countries across the globe. The 16 contestants sampled each chip in succession and had roughly one minute to discuss and guess both the flavor and the country of origin. In the end, scores were tallied and a clear winner emerged: congratulations to Ronnie, who guessed with an overall accuracy of 60%! (2nd place guessed with 45% accuracy.) She won a SakuraBox, which is filled with assorted snacks and chocolates from Japan.
In addition to making guesses, contestants were also asked to rate each flavor on a scale of 0 to 100; with 0 being absolutely vile and 100 being their new favorite flavor of chip. The results are compiled below:
